When Skandia renovated its 6,000 square metre office in Sundsvall, the brief was clear: replace a disjointed environment with one that genuinely encourages people to work differently.

Senab led the interior design, structuring the space around distinct work zones across multiple floors, each defined by its own colour palette. What had been a mix of mismatched furniture was replaced with a considered selection chosen to suit how each zone would be used, from focused individual work to casual meetings and larger collaborative gatherings.

HÅG Capisco features throughout, at individual workstations and in more formal settings. Skandia opted for a warm orange from Flokk's extended fabric collection, a choice that sits confidently within the colour-led zoning approach while bringing consistency across the office.

For more casual meeting points, Offecct Carry On stools were paired with On Point tables, a lightweight combination that gives staff flexibility without fixing the layout. Both pieces were specified with custom and colour-matched fabrics to maintain the ensemble effect across zones.

With collaboration at the heart of the brief, acoustic performance was equally important. Offecct Soundwave® Wicker by Wingårdh & Wikerstål was introduced to manage sound in the open areas, helping define zones without physical partitions and preserving the flow of natural light through the space.

Speaking after the move, Mattias Forsmark, Operations and Service Manager at Skandia, noted that staff had responded positively to the new environment, describing it as bright, fresh, and well-suited to the pace of change the organisation expects to face.
