Flokk supported Lorenz’s headquarters relocation by delivering a flexible seating solution that enabled desk sharing, supported hybrid working routines and agile collaboration, whilst improving ergonomic standards across a 220-person workplace.

The relocation marked a shift from a traditional office layout with mainly single and double offices to an open-plan working environment designed to support hybrid working routines. The new concept introduced desk sharing with a 60% ratio, free choice of seating, and a wider range of work settings to accommodate varying levels of office attendance and different tasks throughout the working day. A key requirement was to improve ergonomic standards compared to the previous office, where height-adjustable desks and seating options were limited.

Flokk seating solutions were specified for open work areas and collaborative zones. In the open-plan workspace, desk chairs were evenly split between Profim Pace and HÅG SoFi, allowing employees to choose the chair that best suited their individual preferences and daily needs. Collaborative areas were furnished with Connection Clique and HÅG Celi chairs, supporting informal meetings and shared use across different teams.

The selection of multiple chair models enabled flexibility within a desk-sharing environment and supported user comfort across a diverse workforce. The light-coloured mesh backrests contributed to a bright, open atmosphere that aligned with Lorenz’s interior design concept and corporate colour palette.

To support the decision-making process, four Flokk chair models were tested over a four-week period by 20 employees prior to specification. This trial phase provided valuable user feedback, informed the final selection, and helped ensure acceptance across the organisation. Flokk provided ongoing support throughout the project, including product guidance during the testing phase and onboarding support after the move.

The project demonstrates how offering a choice of proven seating solutions can support desk sharing, improve ergonomic standards, and reduce risk when transitioning to hybrid ways of working in a large administrative environment.
